Saturday 7th September - walk ***** – Levington Marina with Meava:) – Sunny and warm.

Wow what an absolutely amazing day, just perfect spent in the company of the lovely Maeva, just a shame we could not be joined by Grandson Arlo with his mum and dad! We were having Maeva again today, she was being dropped off at 10.30 which gave me time to do my exercises in the sunny back garden with some amazing clouds floating past in the light winds while Mag did her favourite hobby, seeving compost, she is addicted! Maeva duely arrived dressed for fun with her best blue dress, white tights and black patent boots, big straw hat and 50’s sunglasses, she looked a knockout! We started picking some of our vast crop of tomatoes with Maeva having fun putting them in tubes before I packed our picnic lunch, yummy egg sandwiches for us and we set off in the van to park up at my windsurfing spot by the River Orwell at Levington Marina, just lovely and despite the light airs there was loads of yacht action on the water! Maeva was tired from a full on day with us yesterday we decided to go for a walk first setting off through the marina towards Loompit Lake, we bumped into fellow windsurf foiler Jamie who works at the marina and his lovely family including his two daughter who are full of fun and got on really well with Maeva, they were about to set off in their little yacht:) We take the up and down path at the back of the marina with nice views down to the marina which comes out at Loompit Lake which was absolutely covered in swans. Our little stroller buggy went well over the rough path and we neared the Orwell, two the right was an egret frantically fishing and masses of waders and a bank which was soon to disappear as the tide came in! We find a spot by the lake to sit by the lake to feed the swans Maevas crust, sadly they were not interested so she ate them instead! It was lovely as dragon flies flitted past with families of geese passing too with a man fly fishing on the other side of the lake! We then continue onto the lovely Levington beach with the cystal clear water lapping on the sandy shore, I just had to have a paddle in the warm river, sadly Maeva was a little over dressed for a paddle in the river but she had loads of fun bodging about on the beach! We then ambled back and Maeva actually falls asleep and stays asleep for quite awhile when we make it back to the van, so Mag and I have our lunch. She then wakes and has her lunch on Mags lap, we love our little van even if we don’t go away in it these days but we have had 100’s of adventures in it! We have a selction of toys for Maeva to play with and the boat actions continues including an old barge sailing slowly to Ipswich! After well over 4 hours we drop Maeva at home after a top day, looking windy tomorrow so hoping to get out somewhere on the board. Fingers crossed!
